Honda has confirmed that it will launch its new mid-size SUV in India in the coming months, sharing a teaser on its official website. While the teaser only reveals the silhouette of the prototype, it is expected to get slim LED headlamps with sharp LED DRLs on the top, a wide radiator grille, faux skid plates on both ends, plastic cladding all around as well as roof rails.

The rear-end could feature wraparound LED tail lights, as well as a spoiler to accentuate the design. As per the teaser, the bonnet of the SUV looks flat, while it also has some strong character lines that make it look butch. However, do note that the styling of the prototype will be toned down as the car reaches the production stage.
While Honda is yet to confirm any more details, the mid-size SUV will likely be offered with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as the City, putting out 121 PS of maximum power and 145 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed MT as well as an optional CVT. Moreover, the City e:HEV (Hybrid)’s 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine will also likely be carried over for the higher trims. This engine makes 126 PS power and 253 Nm torque, and has an ARAI-claimed mileage of 27.13 kmpl.
On the feature front, the Honda SUV could be equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, an electric sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charger, up to 6 airbags, ESC, TPMS, as well as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, road departure mitigation, auto high beam assist, as well as lane-keep assist. Pricing could start around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), which would put it in the same ballpark as all its rivals.
Stay tuned to TOI Auto for all updates on the upcoming Honda mid-size SUV.
