LUCKNOW The UP Special Task Force (UP STF) on Thursday arrested three members of a gang in Lucknow, carrying around 20 kg charas valued at ₹1 crore, which was meant to be supplied to a drug peddler in Kota (Rajasthan). This peddler had been supplying charas to students of Kota, which is a coaching hub for engineering and medical aspirants, for two years, said officials.
The three drug suppliers arrested were identified as Mohd Aftab Khan of Shahjahanpur, Salman Khan of Hardoi and Anil Kumar Shukla of Kota, Rajasthan. The trio was transporting the drugs in a hatchback car from Nepal to Rajasthan and was involved in this business for the past two years, as per the STF’s press note.
An FIR was registered under different sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Krishna Nagar police station of Lucknow.
