Varanasi: Upset over dispute with her husband, a woman, along with her three children jumped in front of a moving train in Chandauli district on Sunday evening. Only her 8-month-old son survived.
Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar CO Aniruddh Singh said on Monday, “Manju Yadav (26) and her daughters Aradhya (6) and Amrita (4) were killed after they came under the wheels of a speeding train near Awadhut Bhagwan Ram halt under the limits of Mughalsarai police station. Her 8-month-old son Ankit, however, survived.”
In the initial investigation, it came to light that Manju, the daughter of Ramkishan Yadav of Parorava village in Padao area of Chandauli district, married Bachcha Yadav of Chitaipur area in Varanasi a few years ago. The couple had three children. For the past few months, a cousin brother of Manju started frequenting their place. Bachcha got upset as he suspected there were illicit relations between the two. Bachcha used to ask her to stay away from her cousin and their domestic peace was disrupted.
Both groups took turned to Lanka police and the officials said that to resolve their dispute, Bachcha and Manju were called to Seer Gowardhanpur police outpost on Sunday. In the evening, Manju said she was going to attend to her children, but did not return till late evening. She had, instead, reached the Awadhut Bhagwan Ram halt on the Varanasi-Chandauli border. She sent a voice message to her brother Brajesh Yadav, asking him to later collect her body from Awadhut Bhagwan Ram halt and jumped before a moving train, along with her children.
Brajesh rushed to the Awadhut Bhagwan Ram halt where mutilated bodies of Manju, Aradhya and Amrita were lying on the railway tracks, while Ankit was crying after suffering injuries. Brajesh reported the matter to police and CO PDDU Nagar reached the spot. Ankit was rushed to the hospital, while bodies of Manju and her daughters were sent for postmortem.
