Prayagraj: Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday met family members of slain BJP leader and lawyer Umesh Pal at their residence in Dhoomanganj and offered flowers to Umesh Pal’s portrait.
Apart from inquiring about the well-being of the family members, Maurya also asked family members about round the clock security being provided to them and assured all assistance from the government to the family members. When Pal’s family members told the deputy CM that they were not able to send their children to school fearing for their safety, he promised to make arrangements for the children to be picked from and dropped at school safely.
Lawyer Umesh Pal and two of his police gunners were shot dead by a group of assailants outside his house at Sulemsarai under the limits of Dhoomanganj police station on February 24.
Maurya said, “Yogi-led BJP government is with Umesh Pal’s even as it tightens the noose further around the necks of mafia dons who are curse on the society.”
The deputy CM said, “Umesh pal ke hatyaron ko jo saza mili hai, unke karma ka phal hai – joh jaisa karma karega us ko waisa hi bhugatna padega kyon ki Uttar Pradesh mai ab Yogi sarkar hai (The killers of Umesh have paid for their deeds. Everyone will reap as he sows because it is the Yogi government in the state).
Umesh pal’s mother Shanti Devi told media “Bure kaam ka bura natija hota hai (Bad deeds have bad consequences),” adding, “Bhagwan ke roop mein teen ladke aaye aur us ka ka khatma kar diya (In divine intervention, three youngsters arrived and eliminated Atiq Ahmed and his brother).”
She said her entire family was in grief following the killing of Umesh Pal and soon they came to know about Mohd Asad and Mohd Ghulam getting killed in an encounter. She said her family was aware that court had sentenced Atiq to life imprisonment and acquitted Ashraf in the Umesh Pal kidnapping case.
