ULB polls: BJP ropes in artistes to woo voters | Allahabad News – Times of India



PRAYAGRAJ: To reach out to voters ahead of urban local body polls scheduled in city on May 4, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership has engaged artists from Kashi prant who are staging two “nukad nataks” (street plays) daily highlighting the achievements of BJP led Union and state governments.
The party has deployed teams in all its 15 mandals of Prayagraj Mahanagar. Moreover, party has also rolled out a “Vijay Rath” on streets to connect with eligible voters. BJP spokesman Rajesh Kesarwani told TOI: “With polling dates inching closer, party is leaving no stone unturned to connect with voters and is all set to organise sammelans in all three urban-based constituencies– Allahabad North, Allahabad South and Allahabad West– between Saturday and Monday.” He added that activists of party’s all wings like Mahila Morcha, Yuva Morcha, Minority Morcha, OBC Morcha, Kisan Morcha and SC\ST Morcha are engaged in campaigning and they are targeting women and youth voters to garner support for party candidates.
There are around 30-35% voters of age group 18-30 years who could be a decisive factor in the polls. In addition, BJP has roped in its all machinery to target eligible voters to ensure triumph in all 100 wards and mayoral post. “Both the deputy CMs of the state– Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak– are likely to participate in sammelans to held in city. The Mahanagar BJP leadership has drafted a plan to cover around 2.52 lakh houses in 76 out of 100 wards in city ahead of polling day with an objective to narrate the achievements Union and state governments under the smart city projects,” Kesarwani added.
