Prayagraj: To ensure smooth conduct of upcoming civic polls, the district administration has identified several booths, mostly in localities that were under the influence of slain gangster Atiq Ahmed and have marked them as ‘very sensitive plus’.
The administration has roped in BSF and ITBP personnel to join the state forces to ensure peaceful polls. Also, special teams comprising SDM’s, ACM’s and ACP’s rank officers have been formed to oversee the polls. Sources said the administration has classified the booths into three categories—sensitive, very sensitive and very sensitive plus– in both the municipal limits of the district as well as in the nagar panchayat areas.
Most of the very sensitive and very sensitive plus booths are in old city areas and at those that have a mixed population including Chakia, Atala and Kareli, said officials. There will be 1180 booths of which 34 are highly sensitive ‘plus’. Among these, 25 booths are in municipal limits while the rest are in nagar panchayat.
Besides, there are 98 highly sensitive and 126 sensitive booths. The administration will be conducting videography during polling at all the highly sensitive plus booths.
Also, micro observers, sector magistrates and zonal magistrates will keep a close vigil. The most sensitive booths are in the urban limits which include those in Allahabad South and West assembly areas.
The highly sensitive plus booths include Yadgare Hussaini Inter College Chakia, Hamidia Girls Inter College Nakhas Kohna, Lekhpal training center Gaus Nagar Kareli, municipal corporation school Roshanbagh, district panchayat primary school Karelabagh, Sahara public school Kareli etc. along with these, Purushottam Das Tandon Inter College Mahewa West Patti, Purva Arya Kanya Vidyalaya of Peepal Goan, Savitri Devi Shankarlal College Kajipur Naini, Ranjit Pandit Inter College Naini, MNNIT Teliarganj, Cholera Hospital Allapur, Bal Vidya Mandir Chak Imam Ali Naini, Masuriadin Inter College etc.

Meanwhile, 5942 voters have been left out of the voter list due to negligence of officials. The total number of voters for elections for municipal corporation was 15,69,774 in the list issued by district administration but the same has now changed to 15,63,832. Besides, there are around 1.45 lakh voters in nagar panchayat’s too. Some part of voters of Nibi taluka Khurd were in the gram panchayat whereas the same was included in municipal limits. When the voter list was prepared, due to the negligence of employees, these people were shown in the municipal corporation. As a result not only number of voters but number of booths also stands changed. Earlier, there were 1184 booths in urban body polls which is now reduced to 1180. Apart from these, 127 booths are of nagar panchayat.
