Two-day Workshop On ‘art Of Learning’ Commences At Bhu | Varanasi News – Times of India

Varanasi: A two-day workshop on ‘To learn How to learn’ organised by the Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University commenced on Tuesday.
The director of the Institute of Science, Prof Anil Kumar Tripathi briefed the participants about the objectives of the workshop and shared how students and others can benefit from this talk.
On the first day, more than 200 undergraduate science students were guided with an easy and joyful art of learning by Arun Roy, chief conceptualizer and program coordinator of Enjoy Learning.
During the two-hour long sessions, Roy, an alumnus of IIT-Bombay, focused on different art of the learning processes which need not be boring and laborious but extremely enjoyable. Such learning also helps in building confidence among the learners. He said that the aim of such sessions is to orient the thinking of students towards logical, and mathematical approach towards learning which does not burden the mind but act as a catalyst to open various faculties.
“This aspect seems to be conspicuously absent in students even though they would have succeeded in clearing very tough competitive exams and would have found a place in the premium institutes of the country,” emphasized Roy. He said that the primary goal is to make the students learn how to learn. Enjoy Learning is an educational initiative by a team of ex-IITians and scientists from BARC, some of whom have been in the field of education for the past 30 years. Their endeavour is to recognise inquisitive minds in their formative years and to nurture them to develop the right attitude towards learning science and mathematics, and to ‘provoke them to think.’
Earlier, the dean of the faculty of Science, Prof Sukh Mahendra Singh welcomed the speaker. The program was conducted by Rohit Pandey.
