Based on the DNGA platform, the Yaris Cross measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, stands 1,615 mm tall and gets a 2,620 mm long wheelbase. It gets a five-seat configuration as standard. On the outside, design highlights include a trapezoidal grille at the front, flanked by sharp headlights with LED DRLs. Other styling bits include squared-off wheel arches, diamond-cut alloy wheels and skid plates on both ends.
Inside the cabin, the car gets a large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, an all-black cabin with contrasting blue stitching and other elements, a chunky multi-function steering wheel, physical buttons for climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Powering the Yaris Cross is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine putting out 104 PS of maximum power and 138 Nm of peak torque. There’s also a petrol-hybrid engine putting out a combined 115 PS power, mated to an e-CVT gearbox.

Toyota has equipped the Yaris Cross with an Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold, Six airbags, ABS+EBD and brake assist, Emergency Stop Signal, Hill Start Assist (HSA), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Blind Spot Monitor (BSM).
