LUCKNOW: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Friday said UP was fast moving on the path of development and to further speed up the process, people should vote for the BJP in the upcoming municipal elections.
He said this during the inauguration ceremony of BJP’s Lucknow mayor candidate Sushma Kharakwal’s election office in Hazratganj.
Pathak congratulated Kharakwal and said: “UP will soon shine on the world stage as missiles like BrahMos will be prepared in Lucknow. Besides this, many companies are coming forward to provide employment opportunities. Positive impact of improvement in law and order through roads, electricity, water, education, employment was for all to see.”
Before his address, a hawan was performed to start the inauguration.
Finance minister Suresh Khanna asked workers to meet every voter politely.
“Listen to their problems and give them a road map for a solution in 13 days of the poll campaign. Since mayor candidates can’t meet all the voters so workers should take this responsibility,” he added.
Addressing the workers Sushma Kharakwal said: “I started my political journey as a worker who used to shout ‘zindabad’ for others, now you (workers) are shouting for me. I’m overwhelmed by this gesture. I need you to earn the voters’ trust in me. I’ll try to make the city better.”
