Skoda Kushaq, Slavia 1.5 TSI now available with Ambition trim: Priced from Rs 14.94 lakh – Times of India

In a bit of good news for enthusiasts, Skoda Auto India has announced that it will now offer the powerful 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine in a cheaper variant option for the Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan. The more affordable 1.5-litre TSI engine variant will be called Ambition. The long-awaited move will allow more budget conscious buyers to opt in for the higher performance 1.5-litre EVO, four cylinder engine, instead of the 1.0-litre 3 cylinder engine. Here are the benefits of the bigger engine that is now accessible at a cheaper price point.

The Ambition variant’s 1.5-litre TSI engine delivers more power, it generates 147 hp and 250 Nm of torque. In comparison, the 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI produces 113 hp and 178 Nm of torque. The added cylinder also means that the power delivery is much smoother in the 1.5-litre engine. The bigger 1.5 EVO also comes with segment first Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), that automatically cuts down power from two cylinders when consumption is low. Skoda claims that this improves efficiency by 7 percent.

The Ambition variant will also offer aesthetic benefits by allowing customers to opt-in for a dual pain finish, earlier reserved only for the higher trims. Prices for the Skoda Kushaq 1.5 TSI Ambition range between Rs 14.99 lakhs to Rs 16.84 lakhs ex-showroom, depending upon the gearbox and if the dual tone theme is added. The Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI Ambition is priced between Rs 114.94 lakhs to Rs 16.29 lakhs.
