Prayagraj: The MP/MLA court of Prayagraj on Thursday rejected the anticipatory bail application of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista Parveen in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case, observing that “she has been named as an accused in the FIR, is accused of killing of three persons and her role has been mentioned in the FIR itself”.
“Hence, taking into consideration the facts, circumstances and nature of the offence, the anticipatory bail application is rejected,” said special judge MP/MLA court, Dinesh Chandra Shukla, in his five-page order. In her anticipatory bail application, Shaista Parveen had stated that “she is innocent and has falsely been implicated in this case in order to harass her and also to harass her family members.”
