Prayagraj: A delegation of Samajwadi Party (SP) on Monday handed over a memorandum to district authorities and demanded fair and transparent counting of votes on May 13.
The delegation members also sought a certified copy of voting percentage and urged not to deploy local police at the counting site. Senior SP leader and party’s media in-charge Daan Bahadur Madhur said, “ There were many reports on social media mentioning cent percent polling at several booths. Such confusing reports have puzzled the political camps.”
For instance, there was total of 1,091 voters at booth no 409 of ward no 37. When checked, only 531 out of 1,091 votes were polled on the polling day. However, there was cent percent polling news on social media at the same polling booth.
SP leaders also demanded that agents of recognized parties should be given proper space at the counting site and duties of local policemen should not be assigned.
