Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 spied on test: Check out exhaust note and new design – Times of India

We already know that Royal Enfield is working on introducing a new-gen model for the Himalayan adventure tourer in India, with a launch expected later this year. While no details about the upcoming new Himalayan have been officially revealed so far apart from a teaser, the motorcycle continues to be spied on test across the country from time to time.

Yet another test mule of the upcoming new Royal Enfield Himalayan has been spied on test, revealing its exhaust note as well as a few other styling elements. The exhaust note sounds slightly softer than the current-gen Himalayan, but seems to retain the throaty character. The prototype also reveals the rear LED turn indicators, a new rear rack, and new dual-purpose tyres, which appear slightly more road-biased than the ones seen on the current model.
While the current-gen Himalayan makes use of a 411 cc single-cylinder air-oil cooled engine, the new Himalayan will likely be equipped with a larger 450 cc liquid-cooled unit, putting out around 40 hp of power and 45 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Himalayan 450 will also likely get new LED headlamp, a new digital instrument cluster, upside-down front forks, a redesigned muffler, a new fuel tank, and more.

Royal Enfield currently retails the Himalayan at a starting price of Rs 2.16 lakh, going up to Rs 2.28 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). However, the introduction of the new Himalayan 450 will certainly result in a price hike.
