Prayagraj: Prayagraj writes success stories in UPSC results | Allahabad News – Times of India

PRAYAGRAJ: As the final result of Civil Services-2022 exams were declared on Tuesday, there was jubilation among the candidates who had cleared the coveted exam. Apart from Smriti Mishra, who secured an all-India fourth rank, there are other successful candidates from Prayagraj.
Pratiksha Singh, presently posted as SDM in Shamili district of the state, has made the district proud by bagging 52 rank. Pratiksha hails from Dhanaicha-Malkhanpur village of Hanumanganj area of Prayagraj and this was her third attempt. Her father Prem Bahadur Singh is a teacher in a government school in Delhi and mother Neelam Singh is a homemaker. Pratiksha has done her class 10 and class 12 from Kendriya Vidyalaya Number 1, Air Force Station-Hindon in Ghaziabad and BA Honors in Geography in 2017 from Miranda House, University of Delhi and then completed MA in Geography from Delhi School of Economics in 2019.
“My suggestion to all aspirants is to stay positive and try to learn from failure as well while preparing for Civil Services. I believe reading NCERT books from class 9 to 12 is a must. Prepare according to a time table and you must know the syllabus right from the beginning. Coaching helps but self study is most important,” said Pratiksha.
Among the successful candidates was Anirudha Pandey, a resident of Tagore Town of the city, who has bagged 64th rank. This was the fourth attempt of Pandey. He has done his BTech in Civil Engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) in 2019. Having passed class 10 from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pune and class 12 with 92.6%, Anirudha had taken Political Science and International Relations as optional subjects in the mains.
“I could not clear the preliminary examination in my first attempt in 2019 and in 2020 and 2021. I cleared pre but failed to clear the mains. If you keep working hard, you will definitely succeed. Study on your own by making short notes and from the internet and coaching material,” he suggested.
Anuridha’s father, Adarsh Pandey has retired from Military Engineering Service (MES) and mother Manju Pandey is a homemaker. Another candidate from Prayagraj, Shreya Singh, a resident of Allapur, made the city proud by bagging 639 rank. This was her fourth attempt. Originally hailing from Kotwa Hanumanganj, Shreya’s father Shailesh Kumar Singh is a farmer and mother Pankaja Singh is a teacher at Central Academy, Jhunsi.
Shreya passed her high school from Central Academy in 2012 and class 12 in 2014 with 96% marks. In class 12, she was the third topper of the district. After that she did BTech in Information Technology from IIIT-Vadodara and then did Masters in Sociology from Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Prayagraj. Sociology was also her optional subject in the IAS mains exam. She also appeared in the mains exam in 2020 but could not get success.
