PRAYAGRAJ: The preliminary exams of combined state/upper subordinate services, commonly called PCS (Pre)-2023, slated to be held on May 14 (Sunday) across 51 districts will be held under CCTV coverage to do away with complaints of copying or irregularity.
Preparations for this have been completed by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), which conducts the exam.
The examination is being held against 173 posts and will be conducted at 1,241 centres spread in 51 districts of the state. As many as 5,67,656 candidates are registered for the exams. The exam will be held in two shifts– from 9.30am to 11.30am and from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. There will be two question papers of 200-200 marks. “Sector magistrates have been posted in every district. Members of the commission have also been appointed to conduct the examination and officials of the commission have been deployed as observers,” UPPSC secretary Vinod Kumar Gaur said. Preparations by the district administration, Prayagraj, have also been intensified for the successful completion of the PCS Examination (Pre) 2023. On the instructions of district magistrate, Sanjay Kumar Khatri, the city has been divided into four zones and 25 sectors. ADM ranked officers will be posted as zonal magistrates in all the zones while SDM ranked officials, tehsildars and district level officers of other departments have been made sector magistrates. For this, 75 centres have been set up in the city along with Naini, Jhunsi and Phaphamau. There are a total 34664 candidates in the district.
According to City Magistrate Satyapriya Singh, for the first time a new guideline has been issued by the commission in which candidates will not be able to enter the hall 10 minutes after the commencement of the examination.
Meanwhile, the UP Public Service Commission has declared the result of recruitment to two posts of assistant professor ophthalmology in Government Medical Colleges. Interview was held on May 8 for the recruitment of these posts and 31 candidates were called in. Out of this Pranav Saluja and Priya Singh have been selected.
