Prayagraj: With Samajwadi Party naming Ajay Srivastava as its candidate for Prayagraj mayoral post on Wednesday, party leadership has drawn up strategy to connect with all eligible voters ahead of the upcoming urban local body polls.
“We have formed teams of 10 activists each at every booth to connect with voters both through online and offline modes. The party has also activated all its wings to connect with maximum number of voters with an objective to garner support for party mayoral and corporator post candidates,” SP district president Yogesh Yadav told TOI.
The party will also be shortly releasing the list of candidates for corporator posts. “Party leadership has formed booth wise teams after seeing the strength of voters,” said Yadav adding “Activists of youth and women wings have also been assigned duties accordingly.”
He said Ajay Srivastava has vast political experience and would surely be winning the mayor’s post. He added that the Kayastha and other communities are offering support to Srivastava. Srivastava, a graduate from Kanpur University, had first joined BSP and became party’s district organisational secretary in 1999. Srivastava also contested 2002 assembly polls from Allahabad North assembly segment on BSP ticket but lost.
