LUCKNOW: A man was killed while 19 others suffered injuries after an Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation bus carrying them overturned in Balrampur district on Thursday. The bus was going from Kanpur to Tulsipur.
The police and rescue team reached the spot and started the relief work. The identity of the deceased has not been ascertained as of yet. CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over this incident and directed officials to carry out rescue work.
Additional SP, Balrampur, Namrata Srivastava said that the accident took place at Kuano road connecting Balrampur to Gonda.
“All the injured were sent to the district hospital, the condition of two passengers was serious, and they have been referred to Gonda,” she said.
She also said that what exactly caused the bus to overturn is being probed.
