Prayagraj: In the DASC Under-10 and Under-12 Football Competition being played at Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi, the semi-finals of both the categories on Saturday saw Northern Football Academy (NFA)-Prayagraj defeat their opponents to make it to finals.
According to chief coach of the NFA, Indranil Ghosh, in the Under-10 category, the academy defeated the host DASC “A” Football Club of Delhi 2-0. Veer Pal and Somesh Kumar Dubey scored the winning goals for NFA. In the Under-12 category, NFA beat Ashoka Football Club of New Delhi 1-0. Aditya Upadhyay scored a goal for the winning team in the second half of the game. Somesh and Aditya were declared players of the match. Being organised by D Aswal Sports and Cultural Society (DASC society), the tournament having a total of 16 teams each in the two categories will witness the finals being played on Sunday. NFA will take on Everest Football Academy of New Delhi in Under-12 category and Netaji Subhash Football Club of New Delhi in Under-10 category in the finals.
NFA’s Under-10 team has Veer Pal, Rudra, Somesh, Vishnu, Swastik, Prakhar, Abhijeet, Shivansh, Abhinav, Harshit and Utkarsh while the Under-12 team has Daksh Solanki, Atharva, Ansh, Vaibhav, Suyash, Nishant, Virat, Devansh, Himanshu, Aditya, Abhinav, Ramish Raza, Atif, Arpit and Divyansh. The teams have Sunil Nigam as assistant coach, Shivam Singh as goalkeeper trainer and Indranil Ghosh as chief coach. tnn
