Mnnit, Iit-palakkad To Organise Student Exchange Programme | Allahabad News – Times of India



Prayagraj: Technocrats from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT)-Allahabad and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad, Kerala would be getting an opportunity to observe and understand heritage, culture and customs of UP and Kerala in an exchange programme of the students.
Under the Yuva Sangam programme being implemented under the ambitious ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ scheme of the Centre aimed at helping students to know and understand culture and customs of other states, the teams of both the technical institutions will pay a visit to the respective cities in the coming days. While a team of 45 students from MNNIT will visit IIT-Palakkad from May 27 to June 8, a similar number of students and four teachers from IIT Palakkad will visit MNNIT from May 26 to 31.
“The students will visit the institute as well as sites of historical and cultural importance,” said acting director of MNNIT prof Ravi Prakash Tiwari.
Tiwari said: “This programme is being organised under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It will help students know and understand the traditions in a better way. Yuva Sangam under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat is an important initiative by the Government of India to strengthen people-to-people contact. It will focus on organising exposure tours of youth from one state to another. It seeks to provide a comprehensive experience of various aspects of life, development sites, recent achievements and youth engagement in the host state.” During the event, the two institutes will share the best practices with students to foster a sustained and structured exchange in culture, traditions, tourism and even cuisine.
The MNNIT team going to IIT-Palakkad includes three girls and 42 boys, four teachers and one member of the media cell of the institute.
The MNNIT director will see off the students on May 27 by showing them the green flag. The nodal officer of Yuva Sangam Phase-2 is Rajesh Tripathi, associate professor, department of computer science and engineering.
