The limited-run John Cooper Works is based on the three-door model and gets a Midnight Black paint scheme combined with a grey hood stripe. The hot hatch gets black exterior accents replacing the standard chrome trims. The hatch gets blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels with brake callipers painted in red. There’s “one of 999” lettering all over the sunroof, on the front fenders, on the C-pillar and on the key which denotes its exclusivity.
At the rear it gets a roof-mounted spoiler, Center mounted twin exhaust tips, LED taillights and a manual transmission logo.
Moving inside, the dashboard layout remains the same as the regular Mini. The hatch gets “1to6” badging on the dashboard and the steering wheel along with stainless steel pedals and special emblems on the floor mats. Features include touch screen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and many more.
Now talking about the powertrain and engine, the hatchback gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, Turbocharged Petrol engine carried over from the standard variant. The engine puts out 230 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Mini claims the hatchback can go from 0-100 kmph in 6.3 seconds and the top speed is limited to 246 kmph.
“The MINI John Cooper Works models have their roots in motorsport. With the MINI John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition, we are celebrating MINI’s legendary motorsport history and maximizing the brand-typical driving experience,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI.
