Maruti Suzuki on May 16, announced that the WagonR has become the best-selling model by achieving the 30 lakh sales milestone. The WagonR has been on top of the charts since over two decades now, so we thought it would be a good idea to put Artificial Intelligence to work and re-imagine what the successful WagonR could look like in the future. We first prompted Lexica AI to imagine a rugged SUV based on the WagonR and here is what it threw back at us.

As you can see, the AI kept the dimensions very close to the existing WagonR, while making it more rugged. The AI WagonR SUV gets a redesigned front end with projector LED headlamps, a silver finished scuff plate on the lower part and protruding body cladding around the wheel arches. There is also a side step and bulky roof rails that give it a more SUV-ish appearance.

To make things interesting, we decided to try out a different AI tool to see what kind of results we can get from it. For the next round, we chose to give Microsoft’s Bing AI a chance. It threw out a more realistic rendition of what a WagonR SUV could look like. This time the AI WagonR featured a pair of sharp headlamp units and a longer rear end for added storage, it also featured a roof top box carrier.
In a third attempt, we experimented with the Canva AI and asked it to show us what a WagonR EV would look like. The result was surprising, as the render that the AI returned looked like an actual concept WagonR EV. The dimensions seem to be spot on and the AI WagonR EV gets sharp petal shaped headlamps. The glass area also gets a unique design and the front bumper was different as well. The AI also decided to give the WagonR EV a dual-tone paint scheme of white and black.
