PRAYAGRAJ: The apex committee headed by Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra has approved a budget of Rs 385 crore for 89 new projects for Mahakumbh 2025.
After getting the in-principle consent, now the works will gain momentum. 12 projects, worth Rs 56 crores of Motilal Nehru Medical College and 18 projects of health department have been approved. Besides, 10 projects worth Rs 66 crores of the power corporation, 37 projects worth 156 crores of the Public Works Department, three projects of Jal Sansthan worth Rs 15 crores etc have also been approved.
Kumbh Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand placed the proposals of 89 projects before the apex committee on Monday while the Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant and District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Khatri attended the meeting in an online mode. Among the 12 projects of medical college and its associated hospital, SRN hospital, expansion of OPD, construction work of waiting room, establishment of modular kitchen to provide better food to patients, boring of 300 KL overhead tank tube well, submersible pump and water supply pipe, 3 RO, 25 KV in the hospital premises is proposed. Utility shifting of generators, burn and plastic surgery 20-bed ward in hospital, centralized diagnostic centre have been approved.
A waiting room, registration counter, main gate, security cabin, modern kitchen, main gate, washroom, guest house and auditorium in college campus will be constructed in Manohar Das Eye Hospital.
A budget of Rs 39 crore has been received for 18 projects of the health department too. The project includes construction of two toilets in Beli Hospital, renovation of toilets in wards, renovation of Yamuna block, parking near gate number two, 30 bed night shelter on ground and first floor and toilets, 20 new wards near OT will be constructed. Construction of ambulance parking, general parking, OPD registration room in ground floor of Dufferin Hospital is also approved.
Rs 43 crore has been approved for two projects of Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA). Road widening on both sides of the High Court flyover has been approved.
Funds wise departments, projects of which have been given approval includes 10 project of Rs 66 crores of power corporation, 37 projects 156 crores of PWD, three projects of Rs 15 crores of Jal Sansthan, 18 projects worth Rs 39 crores of health department, a project worth Rs 4.5 crores of the Municipal Corporation, six projects worth Rs four crores of UPSRTC and two projects of PDA worth Rs 43 crores.
