Judicial Panel Interacts With Police, Sit Members | Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: Five members of the judicial commission that is probing the killing of don-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf, on Tuesday arrived in Prayagraj for further investigations.
This was the third visit of judicial commission members to the city. They would stay in Prayagraj till May 21.
The members reached circuit house and interacted with senior police and SIT (special investigation team) members.
Sources told TOI that members recorded the statements of police officials and others, including those present at the site of the double murder on April 15.
Last month, the state government had reconstituted the judicial commission by adding two more members to it — former chief justices of the Allahabad and Jharkhand high courts, Justice Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale and Justice Virender Singh, respectively.
Justice Bhosale is heading the commission while Justice Singh is the vice-chairman of commission.
Initially, the government had constituted a three-member commission headed by retired judge AK Tripathi. The other members of the commission were Justice Arvind Kumar Tripathi (former judge of the Allahabad high court), retired IPS officer Subesh Kumar Singh and retired district judge Brijesh Kumar Soni.
The three-member commission had first time inspected the crime scene at Colvin Hospital on April 20. In May first week, all the five members of the commission had visited Dhoomanganj police station and Colvin Hospital where the gangster brothers were shot dead by three assailants. Adequate security arrangements were made in view of the visit of the members. The entire area was cordoned off during the visit.
