Not long ago, a couple of video clips and pictures from the sets of Shah Rukh Khan‘s upcoming Jawan had leaked online, which soon started circulating on various social media platforms. The Delhi High Court on Tuesday has restrained such platforms including rogue websites, cable TV platforms, direct to home services along with John Doe defendants from circulation of the copyrighted content of the film.
The order was passed by Justice C Hari Shankar after Red Chillies Entertainment Private Limited, the production house owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, had filed a suit over copyright infringement.

The court also directed various social media platforms such as YouTube, Google, Twitter and Reddit to take down the viral video clips. It also ordered various internet service providers to block access to the websites displaying or allowing downloading of copyrighted content of Jawan.

The suit filed by Red Chillies Entertainment stated that two video clips of Jawan were leaked online. The first video clip shows Shah Rukh Khan involved in a fighting scene whereas the second video clip features SRK and the film’s lead heroine Nayanthara’s dance sequence.

It further expressed an apprehension that such unauthorized circulation of the leaked video clips and pictures will jeopardize the film’s promotion and similar acts of piracy may also occur when the film is released in theatres. It further mentioned that the leaked video clips give away the look of the actors as well as the music, which are typically disclosed at strategic points as a part of carefully curated marketing strategy of a film.

Directed by Atlee, Jawan is all set to release in theatres on June 2. It also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra and Deepika Padukone in a cameo.
