Kanpur: As many as 868 haj travellers were vaccinated by the health department with cooperation of UNICEF on Monday and Tuesday. According to the health department, on Monday, a special camp was organised at Garib Nawaz guest house and on Tuesday, the camp was put up at DTS Inter College, Jajmau.
Medical officer Rajesh Sharma informed that on the instruction of state government, all pilgrims going for haj were vaccinated against meningitis (seasonal influenza). 45 per cent women and 55 per cent of the men were vaccinated in two days. Training and other relevant information was also imparted to the travelers.
