Varanasi: The police on Thursday arrested four youths for gang rape of a minor girl in a city locality on May 19. They were booked under sections 376D (gang rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, sections of POCSO Act and IT Act.
According to reports, the girl, who was waiting for an auto rikshaw in the evening to return home, was forcefully taken away by the four accused to a lonely place and raped one by one. Later, they dropped her near her village. They also made video clippings and circulated them on social media. The girl lodged an FIR against them at Phoolpur police on May 24 night. The arrested persons were identified as Suraj Kumar Gaud, Golu Gaud, Sunil Kumar Patel alias Nanak and Nagendra, all adults but under 20 years of age.
