Senior cops, however, heaved a sigh of relief only after they came to know that a crude bomb was exploded near Gobar Gali locality under Colonelganj police station where two rival camps of youths came at loggerheads over a petty dispute. No one was hurt in the incident.
DCP ( City) Deepak Bhuker told TOI, “Upon being alerted, a team of Colonelganj police reached the spot and found that there was some conflict among Harshit Sonkar, Akash Singh, Chhotu Ranu and Raunak Yadav. Following the tussle, Harshit allegedly attacked and hurled a crude bomb at Akash and Raunak but nobody was hurt”.
The DCP, however, said, “The incident occurred near the residence of Dayashankar Mishra (Atiq’s lawyer) but it had nothing to do with the lawyer”.
He also made it clear that the rumour of a bomb attack on Atiq’s lawyer was false and further investigations are being carried out.
Cops claimed that there was no law and order problem and police teams have been looking for youths who were involved in the incident.
Colonelganj police station house officer Ram Mohan Rai claimed that the incident was a fall out of personal enmity between two youths and it had nothing to do with the lawyer. He added police have been probing the case thoroughly.
The act, as per initial police investigations, was an attempt to create fear and terror among rival camps of youths.
