Bhu: Bhu Sem Exam Rescheduled Due To Eye Flu | Varanasi News – Times of India



Varanasi: The Banaras Hindu University’s social science faculty authorities rescheduled a semester examination paper on Thursday in view of outbreak of eye flu among its students dwelling in Raja Ram Mohan Rai hostel on the university campus.
BHU spokesperson on Friday said, around 50 students in the hostel were found affected with conjunctivitis on Thursday. In view of it an advisory was issued by the chief medical officer of the students’ health centre on Thursday and again on Friday advising the students to initiate all precautions. The CMO said that the hostel inmates were also asked not to panic as conjunctivitis is curable and will leave no impact on eye sight.
Dean of students Prof Anupam Kumar Pema also convened a meeting with the hostel authorities in the presence of head of ophthalmology department of Institute of Medical Science BHU Prof Prashant Bhushan on Friday, he said adding that, during this meeting the students were appealed to initiate necessary precaution and assistance of doctors instead of getting misled and panicked.
In view of their problems, the students had expressed their inability in a paper of semester exam on Thursday after which the social science faculty authorities decided to postpone the paper and reschedule it.
