Prayagraj: Just days ahead of lawyer Umesh Pal’s killing on February 24, some of the assailants had met slain gangster Atiq Ahmed’s brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf inside Bareilly jail. The video of the meeting has now gone viral on social media.
The 2.12-minute video dated February 11, 2023 showed that nine persons, including Mohd Asad (son of Atiq Ahmed), Mohd Ghulam, Guddu Muslim, Vijay Chaudhary alias Usman, Sadakat Khan and others had entered the Bareilly jail on a single ID and stayed inside the campus for around three hours.
Police said the meeting was convened to give final touches to the criminal conspiracy to murder Umesh Pal– a key witness in the 2005 BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case.
