Bengaluru BJP MP Tejasvi Surya welcomed Congress leaders and workers offering their prayers to cooking gas cylinders as the 242 assembly constituencies vote today as he said, “At least they are worshipping something”. “Suddenly, the Congress party has started praying to everything — whether it is visiting Bajrang Bali temples last week or seeing God in gas cylinders. The Hindu philosophy sees God in everything. We really welcome DK Shivakumar and Congress party offering prayers to LPG cylinders, we are happy that Congress is doing some kind of puja at least,” Bengaluru MP Tejasvi Surya said on Wednesday.
A day ahead of the crucial election, Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar on Tuesday worshipped a cooking gas, performed aarti in front of it and urged the voters to do the same before going to cast their votes. “Kannadigas! Before you go to cast your vote, don’t forget to perform this ritual. Watch the video,” the Congress tweeted with the video which has Narendra Modi’s old speech as the voiceover. “When you go to vote, pray to the gas cylinder before,” Narendra Modi said.
“See Mr Modiji said this the last time. Now I am appealing the same. Brothers and sisters, from ₹445 the price has gone to ₹1200. Please cast your vote as per our Prime Minister’s request. Put a garland on gas cylinders,” Shivakumar said.
