VARANASI: An army jawan’s wife has been detained after she allegedly murdered her sons aged five years and 10 months respectively by slitting their throats in Uttar Pradesh‘s Ghazipur district on Friday night.
The incident was reported in Harikaranpur village under Mardah police station.
After inspecting the spot on Saturday morning, superintendent of police Omvir Singh said that the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
During the initial investigation, woman’s family members told the police that she was mentally disturbed and was under treatment for a long time, the SP said.
During the probe, it came to light that woman’s husband Ajit Yadav is currently posted in Jammu. His wife Nitu (35) was staying with his other family members in their parental home in Harikaranpur.
After dinner, when all the family members went to sleep, she entered her room. It is suspected that when both of her sons were sleeping she slit their throats. The incident came to light when other family members went inside the room and saw the boys lying in pool of blood.
