1. Tata Altroz Racer
Tata Motors showcased the Altroz Racer sporty hatchback at the 2023 Auto Expo. The company recently confirmed via social media that it will launch the Altroz Racer to the market soon.
The Altroz Racer is based on a regular Altroz hatchback. The car not only gets cosmetic changes and additional features, but it also gets mechanical upgrades as well.
The racer gets a dual-tone theme of red and black with white stripes over the bonnet and the roof. The car also gets blacked-out ORVMs, roof rails, an extended spoiler at the back, and alloy wheels. However, the size of the alloy and tyres remains the same.
The hatchback gets blacked out interior with red and white accents around AC vents, seats and gear lever. The main highlight here is the addition of a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a new UI. The Altroz racer also features a fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, a wireless charger, an air purifier and an electric sunroof.
The Altroz gets a more powerful engine compared to the regular Altroz. The racer is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cyl, turbo petrol engine which puts out 120 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It is also expected that Tata might offer the Altroz with the Dual-clutch DCA automatic gearbox.
2. Tata Altroz CNG
Along with the Racer, Tata Motors also showcased the CNG variant of the Altroz. The Altroz CNG will feature a split tank setup which allows the tanks to be fitted in the boot floor, which helps in not compromising the boot space. Each tank has a capacity of 30 litres. The company has not revealed the capacity of the boot but the regular variants of Altroz get 366 litres of boot space.\
Talking about the powertrain, the Altroz CNG will get the same 1.2-litre, 3-cyl, NA petrol engine which puts out 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. However, in CNG mode the engine produces lesser 77 PS and 93 Nm of torque. In CNG guise, the engine comes paired with a 5-speed manual only.
In terms of features, the Altroz CNG will get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a semi-digital instrument cluster, an engine start/stop button, automatic climate control, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
Talking about the pricing, it is expected that the CNG variants of the Altroz will likely carry a premium of about Rs 90,000 – Rs 1 lakh.
3. Tata Punch CNG
Tata Motors also showcased the Punch CNG micro SUV at the Delhi Auto Expo. The Punch CNG will feature a split tank setup which allows the tanks to be fitted in the boot floor, which helps in not compromising the boot space. Each tank has a capacity of 30 litres. The company has not revealed the capacity of the boot but the regular variants of Punch get 345 litres of boot space.
