Ulb Polls: Candidates Line Up To Buy Nomination Forms | Kanpur News – Times of India



Kanpur: Independant candidate Ankit Maurya filed his form on the inaugural day of nominations for the urban local body elections to be held on May 11. As many as 762 aspirants, including eight for the mayor’s post purchased nomination papers from Pramila Auditorium at the Kanpur Municipal Corporation headquarters.
For the corporators election, 176 nomination papers were sold for ward numbers 1 to 20, 135 for ward numbers 21 to 40, 126 nomination papers for ward numbers 41 to 60, 127 for ward numbers 61 to 80, 129 for ward numbers 81 to 100 and 61 nomination papers for ward numbers 101 to 110.
For Bithoor Nagar Panchayat, 12 set of nomination papers were purchased by the aspirants for chairman’s post and 30 sets of nomination paper for member’s post. For Nagar Panchayat Shivrajpur 15 sets of chairmanship and 22 sets of nomination papers for members were sold.
For Nagar Palika Council Bilhour 11 sets of nomination papers were puchased by candidates for chairmanship and 27 for members. For Ghatampur Nagar Palika Council, only four sets of nomination papers were purchased by the aspirants, while 45 sets of nomination forms were sold by the administration. There was no nomination in Bithoor, Shivrajpur, Bilhour and Ghatampur.
Meanwhile, as per directions passed by the State Election Commission, the district election officer has appointed executive magistrates for flying squad. Deputy commissioner of State Goods and Service Tax Kanpur (SGST) Anil Kumar Singh and assistant commmisioner SGST Kanpur Ajmatullah Ansari have been appointed executive magistrate for zone number 1. Deputy commissioner SGST Manoj Kumar Vishwakarma and assistant commissioner SGST Kanpur Ghanshyam will be executive magistrate for Zone 2. Deputy commissioner SGST Kanpur Anand Kumar Rai and assistant commisioner SGST Ram Chandra Verma would be executive magistrates for Zone 3. Deputy commissioner SGST Ashok Kumar Singh and assistant commissioner SGST Devesh Tripathi have been deputed as executive magistrate of Zone 4. Deputy commissioner SGST Punit Agnihotri and assistant commissioner SGST Akbar Hussain have been deputed executive magistrate for Zone 5. For Zone 6, deputy commissioner Gyan Prakash Singh and assistant commissioner SGST Kanpur Santosh Mani will be executive magistrate for Zone 6.
SGST Kanpur assistant commissioners Neeraj Kumar Mishra and Pradyumn Kumar Gupta will be executive magistrates of Nagar Panchayat Parishad Ghatampur. Similarly Ram Naresh Prasad and Vikas Gupta, both SGST assistant commissioners, have been appointed executive magistrate for Nagar Panchayat Bihour
