Minister of forests, Maharashtra, Sudhir Mungantiwar, has directed the Thane municipal corporation, police and the forest department to immediately take corrective action against illegal structures and buildings to ensure the ecology of Yeoor and the adjoining forest area remains intact, officials informed. The directives were issued on Thursday at a follow-up meeting called by Mungantiwar in Mumbai with senior officials of the concerned agencies after a delegation of Yeoor locals and activists approached him.
