Prayagraj: With the number of polling booths declining from 1,297 to 1,202 in Mahanagar area after booth mapping exercise, the Mahanagar unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have taken up voters verification exercise in 76 out of 100 wards in the city. For that, BJP Mahanagar unit has deputed a team of dedicated office bearers for all 1,202 booths in Mahanagar who would be connecting with eligible voters and seeking support for the party.
BJP spokesman Rajesh Kesarwani told TOI, “After the booth mapping exercise and subsequent the number of polling booths has declined to 1202 from 1,297, party Mahanagar leadership have extensively taken up voters verification exercise in 76 out of 100 wards. He added, “The voters verification exercise in rest 24 wards in trans-Yamuna and trans-Ganga will be taken up shortly”. Kesarwani, meanwhile, said, “A team of 11 dedicated office bearers has been deputed at each and every booth who are connecting with eligible voters to garner support for party”. Party leaders while interacting with eligible voters are apprising them about public welfare policies being launched by BJP led union and state governments.
The aim behind deputing a dedicated team of 11 office bearers at each and every booth was a fresh attempt to connect with the all eligible voters ahead of urban local body polls. Party leadership have already taken up booth strengthening campaign and deployed 11 key members at a single booth with different roles and responsibilities. These 11 key members included booth president, booth secretary, booth level assistant, whatsapp pramukh, Mahila Pramukh, Yuva Pramukh, Man Ki Baat Pramukh, Labharthi (Beneficiary) Pramukh, Samajik Shreni (social work) Pramukh, influential voter (Prabhavi matdata) pramukh and karyakram pramukh.
Kesarwani said, “Party leaders are also connecting with new voters particularly youths and women and apprise them about steps being taken by BJP led union and state government for their betterment. The whataapp pramukh appointed by party leadership at each and every booth has also been assigned to connect with voters of the particular booth through online mode and garner support for party. Mahanagar party leadership has a prime objective to connect with all eligible voters in all 76 wards in city limits. Kesarwani, meanwhile, said, “ The booth mapping exercise has changed the booth scenario and now every booth will have 1,200 to 1,500 names instead of 600 to 1000 names of voters”. Moreover, focus has also been laid on data management and for that, workshops are also being organised at mandal, district and booth levels to strengthen booth management”.
