Varanasi: A two-day grand nutrition fair will be organized at three places in the district including Kashi Krishak Inter College (Harhua), Yugal Bihari Inter College (Rameshwar) and Jagatpur Inter College (Jagatpur) on April 1 and 2.
Union minister of Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani will attend the fair on April 2.
According to the chief medical officer, Dr Sandeep Chowdhary, the fair will be held from 9am to 8pm. A comprehensive information about the ways to save new born babies and pregnant women from malnutrition will be given in the fair. Along with the information about health and nutrition, an exhibition related to different types of nutrition will also be organized. Besides, information on health and nutrition will also be given to the women of the nutritional sector.
In order to put a check on malnutrition, people will be made aware about the importance of nutrition. Facts related to nutritious food, Annaprashan, Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and nutrition to lactating mothers will be highlighted during the event.
