The ICC has given its nod to three new changes in the laws governing cricket. The first change is that on field umpires are not required to give soft signals to third or TV umpires before referring a decision to them. As per the second rule, wearing of helmets by wicketkeepers and close-in fielders has been made mandatory. The third rule change is that if a ball hits the wicket a free-hit delivery, the batsman can take runs.
