Bjp: Bjp Fails To Leave Impact In Nagar Panchayats | Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: Although BJP emerged victorious in the municipal elections of Prayagraj, the party failed to make impact in terms of the post of president of the eight nagar panchayats.
According to the results announced on Saturday, of the eight NPs, four went to independents while Samajwadi Party and BJP won two each.
In 2017, there were nine NPs with BJP, SP and independents bagging three seats each.
In the results for the post of nagar panchayat president, Md Shaif Ansari of SP won the Mauaima panchayat. He polled 5446 votes. Mohammad Alam of BJP came second with 2902 votes.
At Handia, Kulsoom Bibi of SP won by bagging 5129 votes. At Sirsa, BJP’s Vipin Kumar won by getting 3281 votes.
The Phulpur NP president post was won by Amarnath Yadav of BJP who got 5510 votes.
At Bharatganj NP, independent candidate Fara Begum won by getting 4927 votes. In Shankargarh, independent candidate Parvati Devi was the winner who got 2716 votes.
Koraon was won by independent candidate Om Prakash Kesari who got 3256 votes. The president post of Nagar Panchayat Lalgopalganj was won by independent candidate Julekha Bano who got 5681 votes.
