Prayagraj: Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s 162nd birth anniversary was observed at Jagat Taran Golden Jubilee School, Prayagraj with much enthusiasm.
Gurudev, as he was fondly called, was a world-renowned poet, litterateur, philosopher and Asia’s first Nobel laureate in Indian literature. The event started with garlanding and laying wreaths on the statue of Tagore in ‘Rabindralay Auditorium’ by principal Sushmita Kanungo. Later, students gave dance performance. A student threw light on the personality and works of Tagore while another student delivered speech highlighting his contribution to Indian literature. tnn
