PRAYAGRAJ: The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to Vishnu Mishra, son of former Samajwadi Party MLA Vijay Mishra in a 2020 case of fraud and cheating registered in Bhadohi.
Allowing the bail application, Justice Sameer Jain observed: “There is no specific allegation against the applicant and the co-accused Vijay Mishra, ex-MLA is the principal accused. Therefore, it would not be appropriate to refuse bail to the applicant on the basis of his (Vishnu’s) criminal history. Besides, the applicant is in jail since July 24, 2022 i.e. for last about nine months, therefore, the applicant is entitled to be released on bail.”
An FIR was lodged against the applicant and his parents on August 4, 2020 at Gopiganj police station in Sant Ravidas Nagar of Bhadohi district alleging fraud and cheating.
