Prayagraj: Pamphlets having an emotional appeal by Jaya Pal, wife of slain lawyer Umesh Pal to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led state government were distributed at Lukerganj and adjoining areas here Tuesday, said a senior BJP leader. The pamphlets were distributed among masses at Lukerganj where the CM held a public meeting to garner support for BJP candidates contesting for mayoral and corporator posts in urban local body polls.
Senior BJP leader and spokesperson Pawan Srivastava said: “Scores of Sulemsarai and adjoining areas residents and supporters of slain lawyer Umesh Pal along with banners and posters on Tuesday arrived at the public meeting site of chief minister Yogi Adityanath and distributed pamphlets wherein Jaya Pal appealed to citizens of Prayagraj and UP to strengthen the hands of Bharatiya Janata party to tighten the noose around mafias and goons.”
Srivastava said the pamphlet read: “Yogi Ji did what he had said, and mafias are now biting the dust. If people of the state want to see bhaya-mukt pradesh, then they should strengthen the hands of BJP and its candidates.”
Many supporters were also seen carrying banners with photographs of CM Yogi Adityanath, ex-cabinet minister Siddharthnath Singh, Jaya Pal and slain Raju Pal and Umesh Pal. The banner also read “Umesh Pal, Raju Pal ke hatyaro ko mitti mai milane ke liye dhanyawad, Buldozer baba zindabad.”
