Ali: Lucknow Builder Lodges Extortion Case Against Atiq’s Sons Ali, Umar | Allahabad News – Times of India

PRAYAGRAJ: Days after the sensational killing of gangster brothers Atiq Ahmad and Khalid Azim alias Ashraf, Lucknow-based builder Mohd Muslim has lodged an FIR against six persons, including Atiq’s sons Ali Ahmad and Mohd Umar, for harassment, kidnapping attempt to murder and seeking Rs 5 crore extortion.
The FIR was lodged with Khuldabad police station in Prayagraj under IPC sections 386 (extortion by putting any person in fear of death or grievous hurt), 307 (attempt to murder), 147 (rioting), 364 (kidnapping in order to murder), 504 (insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) against Ali, Umar, Asad Kalia, Ahtesham Karim, Mohd Nasrat and Ajay on Wednesday night wherein the victim has claimed that he had escaped to Lucknow from Prayagraj to save himself from the ire of the mafia brothers in year 2007.
A resident of New Chakia locality in the city and involved in construction and plotting business, Mohd Muslim stated in the in FIR: “When I started plotting work in Allahabad (now Prayagraj) in 2006, I was threatened of dire consequences by Atiq, Ashraf and his henchmen frequently as they used to seek extortion as well as grabbed my land.”
After being fed up with frequent harassment, Mohd Muslim shifted from Prayagraj to Lucknow in 2007 and started working in the state capital.
He further alleged, “Atiq and his close aides did not stop even after I shifted and kept on extorting money from me. Asad Kaila, who was recently arrested by the police, was the key operator in grabbing land and extorting money at the behest of Atiq.” He claimed that Atiq and his henchmen had intentions to grab his premier land (araji no. 501, 502 and 397) and a nearby area worth Rs 15 crore located at Devghat village in Prayagraj district in 2021-22, as they wanted to get it registered in the name of Ali and Umar. He claimed, “Asad Kalia had made several visits to Lucknow to threaten me of dire consequences and kept on mounting pressure to get the prime land registered in the name of Ali and Umar. One day, when I visited my residence in Allahabad for some work, Atiq’s key henchmen and his sons had intercepted me near Chakia crossing and sought Rs 5 crore extortion.”
They not only kidnapped the builder, but also took him to the old office building of Atiq at Karbala here and thrashed him black and blue.
“When I expressed unwillingness to pay Rs 5 crore extortion, they mounted pressure to get the Devghat village land transferred in the name of Ali and Umar,” the FIR mentioned and added that when the builder sought mercy, Atiq’s son Ali made a futile attempt to kill him with the help of a belt.
The builder admitted that he had handed over Rs 1.20 crore to Asad Kalia to ensure safety of his life. He alleged that he was frequently threatened by Ali and Umar.
Meanwhile, in January 2023, Atiq’s another son Mohd Asad along with others had visited the builder’s Lucknow-based flat and threatened him of dire consequences if he failed to pay the extortion. Asad had also called up Umar and Ali on mobile phones though they were lodged in jails.
When Atiq, Ashraf and Asad were killed, the builder managed to muster courage to lodge the complaint.
