PRAYAGRAJ: Four persons including three women were killed and three others sustained injures in road accident when tractor trolley carrying them jumped into a dry canal and turned turtle near Ghoogha village under limits of Koraon police station on Saturday night.
Injured persons were admitted at SRN hospital for treatment. Police said the incident took place when the victims were returning from after attending a birthday celebration party.
The deceased have been identified as Rita Devi (30), Suman Devi (28), Ashish Kumar (20), and Shiv Kumari (30) all residents of Koraon. Police said that a group of 20-25 persons in two separate tractors had gone to Sazi village to attend a birthday celebration. While returning, the driver of a tractor lost his control over the vehicle and the tractor along with trolley jumped into a dry canal and turned turtle.
The police with help of locals rescued the trapped persons under the trolley and brought eight persons to community health centre where doctors declared three of them brought dead. The doctors referred injured persons to trauma centre in city.
